NEW REVIEW IN "ALL ABOUT JAZZ"!
All about Jazz, which is a HUGELY popular website that focuses
on, surprisingly enough, jazz, has reviewed Guitjazzathon.
I like this quote: "The music and its salutary effects
are there while listening to it, yet it is almost as if the
music is in the air of it all." Now I just gotta go
figure out what he meant!
Here is the review.

I HEAR IN THE BACKGROUND?
As a Los Gatan, I know that when it comes to a great place for
coffee, vibe, and other special extras, the best place in this
neck of the woods is the Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company.
Today begins a retail relationship with the good folks at LGCRC!
As of today, the Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company is the first
retail establishment to carry the entire Scott Whitney musical
CD catalog. Owner Teri Hope has been VERY
enthusiastic about my music, and it's been GREAT working
with her!

adding the Guitjazzathon

it could take upwards of a month before they even reviewed the
CD. Based upon the timing of this latest bunch, I think they
were right! [HERE'S

More radio news (by the way, another list of new stations playing
the Guitjazzathon CD to follow shortly).
I have, on occasion, been asked to provide a "Station ID"

on air, usually at the beginning of one of his/her songs.
Here's
my most recent one. . .for WWOZ-FM in New Orleans. Click

Well, the good folks at The Mountain Winery have decided, after
serious evaluation, to add me to their list of "Preferred/Recommended
Artist" for the previous-mentioned activities!

RADIO INTERVIEW WAS GREAT!
Had a GREAT time chatting with Vince Outlaw of KSDS-FM in San
Diego, CA last night. Super nice guy, very good questions. Gotta
tell ya -- it is WILD hearing your own music on the radio. I
listened in to the station for a couple of hours before the
interview and was pleasantly suprised when they played Corcovado.
Melissa [wife] and I were as giddy as a couple of school girls!
Listener response during the interview has been great as well!
We got our first KSDS interview-based
order while the show was still in progress! During the interview,
Vince played Gin
and Tonic and Classically
Tamed. The interview
is available for your listening pleasure by going here.

AND OUR NEXT CALLER IS SCOTT FROM LOS GATOS. . .
San Diego's Jazz 88 (KSDS) is going to interview Scott during
their July 17th "The New Jazz Thing" show! Here's
what Publicity Director and on-air personality Claudia Russell
said about the Guitjazzathon CD:
"The beauty of Scott Whitney's composing and playing is
that it doesn't require categorization. It's just good music.
His style is original and successfully merges the variety of
influences he's had. Jazz? Classical? Latin? It's all blended
on Guitjazzathon in a sound that keeps you engaged from note
one, all the way through to the final beat on the final track.
No impersonations here, this is Scott Whitney."
The interview is scheduled for 7:20PM. It can be heard on the
Internet. Here is the PRESS RELEASE.
