  • The Mansion Gig Was GREAT
Had a very good time performing at The Mansion at MGM Grand. Very nice people, very well received. I played at a baccarat reception for MGM Grand high-rollers. Pretty cool.

Barry Morgan, the Entertainment Director at the MGM Grand, provide a very nice quote:

"Including a Scott Whitney solo guitar performance to the offerings we provide our guests at The Mansion at MGM Grand further enhances the property’s invitation-only environment. The elegance of his playing, the variety of his song selection, and the professionalism by which he carried himself sets an ideal mood, perfectly suited for one of the most exclusive properties in Las Vegas."

  • RADIO INTERVIEW WAS GREAT!
Had a GREAT time chatting with Vince Outlaw of KSDS-FM in San Diego, CA last night. Super nice guy, very good questions. Gotta tell ya -- it is WILD hearing your own music on the radio. I listened in to the station for a couple of hours before the interview and was pleasantly suprised when they played Corcovado. Melissa [wife] and I were as giddy as a couple of school girls!

Listener response during the interview has been great as well! We got our first KSDS interview-based order while the show was still in progress! During the interview, Vince played Gin and Tonic and Classically Tamed. The interview is available for your listening pleasure by going here.

San Diego's Jazz 88 (KSDS) is going to interview Scott during their July 17th "The New Jazz Thing" show! Here's what Publicity Director and on-air personality Claudia Russell said about the Guitjazzathon CD:

"The beauty of Scott Whitney's composing and playing is that it doesn't require categorization. It's just good music. His style is original and successfully merges the variety of influences he's had. Jazz? Classical? Latin? It's all blended on Guitjazzathon in a sound that keeps you engaged from note one, all the way through to the final beat on the final track. No impersonations here, this is Scott Whitney."

The interview is scheduled for 7:20PM. It can be heard on the Internet. Here is the PRESS RELEASE.
